Introduced as Fender’s top-line guitar in 1958 and aimed squarely at jazz cats, the Jazzmaster® had instead found its way by 1965 into the hands of surf rock guitarists everywhere who made electrifying use of its sleek offset body, dual tone circuits and locking tremolo system. It acquired several new features in ’65, including pearl fingerboard dots instead of clay, a brown shell pickguard, white control knobs with chrome tops, and a thicker headstock decal.
The Time Machine 1965 Jazzmaster Relic® honors that magnificent model with original features and several slight modifications for modern players. The two-piece select alder body has a Relic lacquer finish; the sturdy rift-sawn maple neck has a comfortable “C” profile topped by a 9.5”-radius rosewood fingerboard with narrow tall frets for smoothly effortless play. The special RSD J-Bridge has a steel base and brass saddles that deliver articulated tone with a strong primary note that lets the sound of the guitar ring through. Other features include hand-wound Jazzmaster pickups and vintage-style tuning machines. Includes deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.
